An Evening with Bayou City Swing!

“Bayou City Swing draws inspiration from the music of Django Reinhardt, adds Houtston flair to it, and spreads it around the Space City and beyond. Gypsy Jazz, Continental Jazz, or Jazz Manouche are all names for a style of jazz combining the melodic / improvisatory flair of Roma musicians with the swing rhythms and harmonies of the 1920’s and 30’s jazz era.” – Archway Gallery
Let’s meet, catch up and listen to good music!

Description:

“Archway gallery, in essence, is an artist-owned and artist-operated gallery – a collective of 25 or more artists exhibiting in various genres: Abstract, traditional and surreal artists, sculptors and potters, photographers and print makers. If an artist leaves, the artists themselves vote on new artists who have applied for admission to the group. Within each genre, the gallery tries to avoid having two artists with the same style. Hence there is something for everyone at this well-run and well-organized gallery. That the gallery has been in existence for 40 years, speaks volumes in a world in which galleries spring up and disappear in a twinkling of an eye, and is an indicator of its continuing evolution, as well as its marketing and organizational skills. This is a gallery not to be missed in one’s visit to the typical top 5 private galleries in Houston.” —- Scott D.

We will meet inside the gallery. Call if you cannot find us.
